It's been 3 months since i built my blog with github copilot without writing any lines of code ,generated a lot of things using copilot but still doesnt use it because i was doing a lot of stuffs to my blog , instead of doing the blogging .
Yesterday ,I found out a community in Reddit called small web community and they are using minimal frameworks to achieve their usecases.For example ,for blogs instead of using intense javascript frameworks they have built their blogs using html & css and using some lightweight static site generators and I realised this is what I want as a blog for me . I want to change my existing heavy blog to a simple ,clean ,fast blog so that i can write my thoughts instead of perfecting it to something which i even dont want
When I shared this with a friend and told him I feel hard to edit things in the existing blog code which AI done ,he told me that before doing code via AI ,just learn the language which you are using ,it doesnt even take month to learn the basics .Once you learnt it ,you can guide AI better to build things for you . I never thought thats going to be a gamechanging advice at that time . Comrade changed my game to a new level.
A few days later when I was browsing through youtube and was shown about a CS50 live session about memory management and it reminded me of when I first discovered computer science. Coming from a mechanical engineering background, I once felt lost about where to start to learn the basics of Computer Science ,at that time i randomly discovered CS50 and which gave me my first real understanding of how computers work and made me to fly on this computer cosmos.
And as like that time ,now CS50 found me this time and i just casually browse through what they are offering and found a HTML & CSS video and sat on it and watched it for 2 hours on a friday night and completed it on the Saturday Moring around 1.a.m
Then the dopamine of completion never left me completely so i started to test what I learn and I looked at a few minimal blog templates online and began building my own from scratch. I have coded a lot of plain html and struggled a lot but this time I fired copilot to solve it but in Ask Mode instead of Agent Mode.So we were chit chatting and learnt a lot together about html and css .Thank you Copilot Comrade ,you are so much helpful while learning .Sam altman would be very proud.
That night, it took me back to the days of the college where we used to wake up late and work on things and it happened for me today night and the html hackathon with myself went till 4 a.m on saturday morning and by sunrise I had my minimal blog which is faster and looks cool than my old one.
But at the end of that coding hackathon with myself ,I found another feeling that When we create something for ourselves not for money or for any validation there’s a unique kind of lightness And a quiet confidence that changes how we see the world.In the current world where we want to do lot of things just because it gives some money to you. Why we need to do things which only produces value in the market,why we cant do things for us because we feel better or we feel alive? Oh no !! If i continue with this thoughts I need to sleep by 8 a.m. So i delayed it for later day.
So,here you are folks ,reading my first blog written on the one which i created today with Comrades,CS50 ,CSS and Curiosity.
